Over 50's fear for their children and inflation


The latest Saga index, which tracks the trends of health, happiness and standard of living in the UK 21 million over fifties, has shown that many worry about inflation and that it will raise above 6% and they will need to help financially support their children.    

The report goes on to show that despite their own financial worries and woes, 33% are already providing financial support to their children.

The report higlights wide socio-economic differences with some planning to increase spending, and are indeed planning fewer cutbacks.  Whilst others, one in five, are cutting back on essential spending as a result of high inflation.  In particular many are cutting back on heating as fuel costs have soared.
