Hard times force adults to holiday with parents

Parents are increasingly taking their grown up children on holiday as they struggle to fund a break themselves.

A survey from LV Travel Insurance found that as many as 39% of adults travel with their parents for their main annual holiday.

The average age of adults who join their Mum and Dad on a break is 30 whilst 19% are in their 40s.

Over 60% of parents said that they would be funding the total cost of the holiday and a third of families said that they wanted to have a family holiday together ‘regardless of cost’.

Despite the majority not contributing financially to the holiday nearly all were allowed to give their views on accommodation and 88% helped to choose the destination.
